UQ open days are always such a success! Students from school and even UQ or other uni's attend to grab as much information as possible on the fantastic faculties at UQ.
I, of course, was working at the best faculty! The mining and metallurgy faculty which was a blast! On display and for the students use was gold panning, remote control dump trucks and dozers and also a mini dragline (operated while sitting in a real dragline seat).
The metallurgy side of the display included demonstrations for flotation, flocculation and other mineral separation techniques.
